ISEAWAVES: Whatsup guys thanks for the interview and mixtape, where you guys from, And what are your names?

PINK A PADS: Hi mates, first off thanks for your interest, were a couple of boys from north italy, andrea and manuel. Born in north west, near Turin and now we live in Milan, sometimes in london and sometimes in other parts of the world, we meet in a city every month but in reality were poor and homeless.

ISEAWAVES: Sweet, how did you guys come up with the name PINK A PADS?

PINK A PADS: We started to call us pinkapads cause nobody could remember our names. In 2006 we were working at differents drum n bass and breakbeat projects in Italy, the pinkapads project grows up in a alcoolic night like a joke, we decide to work for a funky tune with guitar and drums sample recorded in a sunday afternoon chilled session in our homestudio after a very hard saturday night party, we finish that tune and a pack of fags in 4 hours and the day after we sent it around the web just to see the feeds you know, an italian label (dirty drop records) text back and liked our stoned sounds, from that day we start to clean that sound and work seriously between 125 and 135 bpm.

ISEAWAVES: When you guys play live, what equipment and programs do you use?

PINK A PADS: We usually play live whith a laptop and a couple of controllers to mix our tunes whit reedit of other tunes and bass, drums, and effects loops, we use laptop, so, we have to try every times to made unusual performance you know, we try to reedit a lot of things, we wanna create in the crowd the feelling of amazement and surprise at the same time, you know, when you go for a concert, you hope that when the band play your favourite song,will be different from the album, whit a kind of solo or something else, so, for us is the same in the sets and laptop gives a big help for this…obviously, we burn all reeedit and new tunes on cds for b2b s or festivals when you have to play just 1 hours or less behind decks, remain funny play whit cdjs!! pitch band rules!!!

ISEAWAVES: What tracks do you have out now on beat port?

PINK A PADS: Mmm…on beatport, the new portal of world music..let we thing.. we got a couple of eps whit dirty drops about our firs works under pinkapads, some remix like “My baby left me” by Ninfa under hypotron records, a couple of works for VIM records and…that s it we think..

ISEAWAVES: Any forthcoming tracks?

PINK A PADS: We think september will be a proliferous mounth for us, you will enjoy our new single out on “ground level” records (UK) “Il Moralista” & “Lo Scocciatore” already in stream in some european radio, and another work out in Italy the title is Mainstream, and the label will be our first Dyrty Drop (IT) we think is true and fair never forget your roots and never forget that peaple who trust in you when you was a teen dj you know? This are the few things that we can say at the moment..

ISEAWAVES: Have you guys collaborated or done any remixes with any other djs or artist?

PINK A PADS: We think that one of the amusing thing of our works it’s maybe collaborate with others artists, you got the opportunity to compare and mix influences of every music corners to create something that youve never made before you know, so, yea it’s great, a lot of tune that we play in sets are collaboration whit other artist, like : Doc Trash, Dio della love, Simone delorean, all the Sidechain massecre crew, gerruz, arabesque etc.. ( hi mates we love you ahahah!!)

ISEAWAVES: Where have you guys been playing at?

PINK A PADS: In last two years we played in Venice, Perugia, Milano, Torino and of course in Cuneo (our native land) where we was resident last year in Unika Club, the nights were call Funk Wars, a movement that every two weeks burned the friday nights of the town with a lots of guest like, Gigi Barocco, Nic Sarno, Pink is Punk and many others, this are the clubs, but, we played a lot of times at festivals in italy near turin like “Nuvolari libera tribu’ ” and of course a lot of after parties in houses or raves near river in the middle of the nature, that’s the way we li we li we liked!!
We try to make the peaple crazy whit all our stuffs you know, music comes first but we got a lot of others resources!!

ISEAWAVES: Any crazy stories or gigs?

PINK A PADS: ahahah we have to choose couse we are full..Mmmm, whait, I think that time that during a set andy come up the consoles and starts to scream and to wet the crowd with some bottles of water course was very hot, and a couple of minutes later when i was play arrive on the console I think 2 liters of gin and tonic to answer, luckly whitout damage for equipments.

ISEAWAVES: What tracks or artist are you guys digging right now?

PINK A PADS: To be honest, we got different musical tastes, usually we discover by own a kind of gener or..artist, than we meet for a car trip whitout destination, a couple of beers and a lot of records and we talk about our new discover, so..right now manuel in this moment is tuned for moderat to teh left and Louis la roche to the right, andy is in rockabilly fever now to the left for him now The chips and james Intveld to the right. In reality there are a lot of other too but maybe you got other things to spread this mounth :)
